ICONIQUE HAIR

Private Hair Extensions for Thinning Hair and Hair Loss Concerns in Houston

Fuller-looking hair begins with a conversation about you. Iconique Hair offers premium extension expertise through a private, discreet, personalized experience for women seeking added length or fullness, including women exploring cosmetic options for thinning hair.

I’m Shalita Heard, the founder of Iconique Hair. We will talk about the look you want, what your current hair can reasonably support, and whether an installation is an appropriate next step. An inquiry does not commit you to extensions, and a consultation does not guarantee that installation will be recommended.

Experience With More Than One Reason for Wanting Fuller Hair

Over the years, I have served women seeking a beautiful change and women dealing with changes they did not choose. My experience includes clients who described thinning or hair-loss concerns associated with alopecia, thyroid conditions, cancer treatment, lupus, genetic factors, trichotillomania, and other circumstances.

That is firsthand cosmetic-service experience. It is not medical expertise, and the name of a condition does not tell us whether extensions are suitable. Medical diagnosis, treatment and questions about regrowth belong with a qualified healthcare professional.

For some clients, seeing a different reflection has been an emotional experience. Those moments have reinforced how personal this work can be.

A Private Conversation About Your Goals

Privacy has been part of the way I work throughout my career, including in my private salons. Personal attention means listening to what matters to you: your preferred look, your styling habits, your comfort, and what you want to keep personal.

You can start by explaining your goal in your own words. You do not need to send medical records to begin an inquiry. If you prefer to discuss your concerns before sharing hair photographs, say so when you text. The introductory consultation is usually by phone and is free. We will discuss the next steps before scheduling.

What We Discuss Before Considering Extensions

A cosmetic consultation considers the hair available for attachment, your desired fullness or length, visible areas you want to discuss, your usual styling routine, and the maintenance an installation would require. It also gives you space to ask what can realistically be achieved.

Appearance alone cannot determine the cause of hair loss or medical suitability. If you have new or changing hair loss, a diagnosed condition, scalp discomfort, or current medical treatment, discuss appropriate styling with your healthcare professional. We can revisit cosmetic planning in light of that guidance.

The American Academy of Dermatology notes that repeated pulling can cause hair loss. No attachment method should be presented as tension-free or appropriate for every head of hair. A consultation may end with a recommendation to defer an installation.

Possible Extension Options

The methods described in Iconique Hair’s existing offer include wefted micro-link extensions and signature interlocking extensions.

Wefted micro-links secure wefts with small beads, without a braided foundation or glue. Signature interlocking uses a concealed weft technique without braids, beads or glue. These descriptions explain the attachment; they do not establish that either method is suitable for thinning areas.

The discussion begins with whether extensions make sense at all. If they do, the placement plan, amount of hair, blend, styling expectations and maintenance need to work together. There is no single method or quantity of hair that I can promise from a condition name or a text message.

Standard, seamless and invisible K-tip options are also offered. Their bond size and preparation differ, but no variant is automatically appropriate for thinning hair. Suitability is considered individually before any method is selected.

When an Installation May Not Be the Right Choice

There may not be enough suitable hair for the desired attachment or coverage. You may also decide that the maintenance commitment does not fit your routine. Where scalp symptoms, active changes in hair loss, or health-related concerns make the next step uncertain, medical guidance comes first.

If an installation is inappropriate, declining or postponing it is a valid outcome. We can discuss questions to take to your healthcare professional and what to consider when looking at other cosmetic approaches. If you want to explore wigs, toppers or other hairpieces, seek a provider who offers those services.

Trichotillomania involves hair pulling and deserves support beyond a styling appointment. Extensions are not treatment for pulling, and no installation can be promised to stop it. If pulling is ongoing, discuss styling choices with the healthcare professional supporting you. Read the NHS overview of trichotillomania.

Practical Expectations and Investment

An extension installation can change the appearance of suitable hair; it does not diagnose, treat or prevent an underlying condition, replace medical care, or guarantee regrowth. Results, visible coverage and styling flexibility depend on your starting hair and the plan agreed upon.

Before any installation is booked, confirm the method, what the quoted price includes, whether hair is supplied separately, the maintenance plan and removal requirements. The existing homepage prices are installation-only weft row prices, not an all-inclusive package for hair-loss concerns. Your service scope and quote are discussed individually.

If a method is recommended, ask how to care for it and what changes should prompt you to contact the stylist or your healthcare professional. The American Academy of Dermatology advises that painful or overly tight styling needs attention.

Consultation and Reservation

Start with a free introductory phone consultation to discuss your goals and whether the service is a good fit. All appointments are arranged directly with Shalita after the initial virtual consultation; there is no online booking calendar.

An in-home consultation is $100. A deposit is required to secure your reservation. Shalita will confirm the deposit amount and reservation details before booking. Mobile appointments carry no travel fee. Geographic limits apply, so confirm your neighborhood during your inquiry.

Preparing for Your Appointment

For installation-only appointments, your hair must be completely free of products. For full-service appointments, arrive with no other hair extensions or attachments in your hair, and make sure your hair is completely detangled before services begin. No other advance preparation is required for full-service appointments.

Houston Area Appointments

Iconique Hair’s mobile, in-home service area includes Houston, the Energy Corridor, Missouri City, Sienna and Sugar Land. Mobile appointments have no travel fee. Geographic limits and appointment availability are confirmed by neighborhood before scheduling. See the Houston service-area guide.

Frisco remains a separate established service market. If you are asking about a Frisco appointment, identify that location in your inquiry so current arrangements can be confirmed.

Questions About Thinning Hair and Extensions

Can I get extensions if I have alopecia?

Alopecia alone does not establish suitability. Discuss the medical concern with your dermatologist and then explore whether your current hair and cosmetic goals support an extension plan. Installation may be deferred.

When can I consider extensions after cancer treatment?

There is no universal waiting period promised here. Ask your cancer-care team about appropriate hair and scalp care before considering an attachment. The National Cancer Institute explains hair-loss questions during cancer treatment.

Will extensions treat hair loss or guarantee regrowth?

No. Iconique Hair’s role is cosmetic extension planning and personal service. Medical diagnosis, treatment and regrowth questions belong with a qualified healthcare professional.
